In the March Samplings newsletter, program chair Stacy Diokno announced a sampler challenge due in November. The samplers must contain three of these elements: an olive tree, a mermaid, a fish and a violet. In the past few weeks when the weather has been too hot to garden in the middle of the day, I dug out the rules and got started. I liked the idea of a mermaid, and the fish would seem to go well. I discovered that there’s an aquatic plant called a sea violet, so that will be my violet. Add some waves and a few seahorses and I have a nautical theme. Interested to hear what other LSG members are doing for this challenge. (posted by Elizabeth Ellers)
