Leesburg Activities On Saturday, Dec. 11

The annual Holidays in Leesburg Festival & Parade fall on the same date as our December meeting and holiday party this year.  This is a warning to our members that traffic will be busier than usual, and it won’t be possible to drive across town on Market Street or Loudoun Street while the parade goes down King Street.  The parade begins at 10:00, so expect street closures to begin earlier.

It’s also an oportunity to stop by historic downtown Leesburg after our party to enjoy the festival.  Last year there was a winter wonderland, ice sculptures, carnival rides and games, live entertainment,  and visits with Santa.  Of course, the town’s unique boutiques will be open for shopping.   http://www.virginia.org/site/description.asp?attrid=70136

The festival will be capped off by the Jingle Jam, Leesburg’s holiday rock n’ roll concert featuring many local and regional artists playing traditional holiday tunes with a little edge. Show times are 2:30 and 8 p.m at the Tally Ho Theater.   http://leesburg.patch.com/events/jingle-jam-2

Oh, how I wish I didn’t live so far away. I would love to attend the festival. If my husband and I had moved to
VA in the 1960’s like we wanted to, (Roanoke) I would have been there with bells on.

Thank you for your newsletters. I read every one. Don’t forget, if you ever have those tote bags for sale again, I want to be first on your list. JoAnn
