The Loudoun Sampler Guild has the pleasure of the debut class of Pamela Darney’s new “Yellow Rose Sampler.” The Guild House Samplers’ design is a Quaker-influenced sampler stitched on two different colors of linen. The upper portion contains an upper case alphabet and a few small motifs. It is secured to the darker linen with a colorful diamond band. The lower section contains six Quaker medallions, and numerous floral sprays. The complete sampler measures 10″ by 12.5” on 32-count linen.
The materials included in the kit are 32-count Picture This Plus linen in “Earthen” (upper portion) and “Ale” (lower portion), Gloriana silks (in greens, blues, yellows, and pinks), graph, color photograph, graph paper, instructions, and needle. The price for the kit is $75.00 (including tax).
The majority of the class time will be spent on the “joining” technique, with a lesson on graphing, and color placement. The joining is not difficult, but is tedious and exact – so please bring plenty of lighting to class. You may want to bring a hoop (6 inches or greater) or stretcher bars. Also, please bring a pencil to class. As an option, you may select to skip the two-tone option and select a solid color linen – either Earthen or Ale. A coupon and a color photo of the sampler were provided in the September newsletter. Registrations are due by November 1.
