Sampler Day at The Stitching Post in October

Sampler Day will be 6 October from 10-2 at The Stitching Post in Baltimore, Maryland.

You are cordially invited to join Barbara Hutson of Queenstown Sampler Designs and Patty Yergey of Samplers Revisited. Joining Patty and Barbara will be Cindy Steinhoff, a librarian and historian who has done research for many of the samplers that Barbara and Patty have reproduced.

Come hear their stories about New Jersey schoolgirl samplers.  The image shown here is of one of Barbara’s “Jersey Girls” — The 1819 Lydia Borton. Cindy Steinhoff owns the 1834 Elizabeth Borton sampler. The girls were sisters, and the samplers were purchased from Lydia & Elizabeth’s direct descendants. Cindy and Barbara can’t wait to tell everyone the story of how they acquired the girls.

There will be a variety of reproduction and original samplers to see as well as  a Quaker marriage certificate.  Patty will show how she actually designs her samplers.

Visitors will help decide which sampler Barbara and Patty should chart next. Enter the contest in the shop that day, and the winner will receive a free copy of that chart when it becomes available. As a special thank you, Barbara & Patty will have complimentary charts.
