National Trust (UK) Project Report

This month’s National Trust Magazine includes an article on a project at the NT property Killerton. In order to raise money to conserve their collection of 100,000 textile items, a team of volunteers has worked on a quilt to be raffled. The quilt includes techniques including applique, embroidery, beading, couching and hand-quilting.

The article includes step-by-step instructions to create a bee motif, which appears 20 times in the quilt.

The National Trust is making many of its collections available online, including over 20,000 of Killerton’s fashion and textile objects. This link takes you there:,-Devon-%28Accredited-Museum%29/1
