Lecture at the DAR Museum, April 21

Loudoun Sampler Guild members may recall the 2008 DAR Museum exhibition Telling Their Stories: 19th Century Samplers and Silk Embroideries.   Eighty examples of schoolgirl art were presented in the context of the makers’ lives in place and time. Eight years later, there is more to relate not only about recent acquisitions, but also some discoveries about old favorites. Olive Graffam, Curator of Collections/Research Associate, DAR Museum, will continue the narrative with this free “Tuesday Talk.”

Anyone attending this lecture may also want to make time to see their current exhibition, “Eye on Elegance / Quilts of MD and VA,” http://eyeonelegance.dar.org/exhibition/introduction.
