Update on Talbot Historical Society Sampler Event

The Talbot Historical Society is holding an exhibition, symposium, and sale of American and European needlework entitled “Head, Heart and Hands” on Saturday, May 2, 2015 in Easton, Maryland. The exhibition will showcase over 40 highly detailed samplers, which provide a snapshot into the daily lives of 18th and 19th century women.

The symposium will kick off with a  talk by nationally recognized needlework expert (and Loudoun Sampler Guild member), Barbara Hutson, followed by the sale of 28 or so samplers. Barbara will be around all day to answer questions.

TCH - Nichols Sampler Harriet Herrick, AE 9, linsey-woolsey

The event is FREE, but space is limited for the talk.  Anyone wanting to attend should call to reserve a spot.  410.820.7525

Is there any way to look/bid online?

Sorry Linda, this will not be an auction with bidding; online or in person. The samplers will be for sale on Saturday, 2 May. Talbot Historical Society is now in the process of pricing the samplers. There will be samplers priced modestly and some more important samplers will be based on known auction prices for similar samplers. The samplers that do not sell that day will be placed in the THS Tharpe House antique shop that is run by THS.
