A Queen Elizabeth I dress found

The U.K. tabloid the Daily Mail is not the first place one thinks of for needlework news.  It tends to feature celebrity exposes, true crime stories and diet tips.  But LSG member Sharlotte DeVere turned up an article about the discovery of an an exquisite cloth of silver worn by Elizabeth I at St Faith’s Bacton church, Herefordshire.

The 16th Century cloth might have cost three years’ wages for average laborer. There are plans to put the cloth on display after its been restored.
